How to use USSD code to lock my OPay Account

In addition to regulatory safeguard, OPay has launched a new security feature, *955*131# USSD short code, that allows you to lock your account when your phone is stolen or you discover unauthorized transaction in your account.

"We have developed a short code to allow users to lock their accounts immediately if their phone or card is misplaced or stolen. So, if this ever happens to our dear users, they can get a phone and dial *955*131# to lock their account and *955*132# to lock their card immediately without any hassle," said OPay.

How it works

Assuming your mobile phone got lost or you misplaced your OPay ATM card, simply dial *955*131# on any phone (it's not necessary that you must dial the ussd code on your registered OPay SIM), follow the prompts that follows to deactivate your account.

For SIM card blocking, kindly dial *955*132# to deactivate your OPay ATM card too. However, it's important to let you know that this service will incur for N10 network fee each time you dial code. To proceed with your request, just tap "Accept" and follow the onscreen prompts to easily lock your OPay account.
